My Therapeutic Journey
“Xinyi came into my life at a time when I had been through catastrophic medical trauma and was left trying to make sense of the aftermath. What I was dealing with was not simply stress or a passing low mood, but severe depression, trauma, anxiety, grief, loss of confidence, emotional exhaustion, and the deep disorientation that comes when life as I knew it had been abruptly taken away. There were many layers to it, and at times I felt as though I was wandering without any real inner direction.
What made Xinyi so exceptional for me was not only her professionalism, but her human quality. She is an extremely good listener, one of those rare people who does not merely hear words, but truly understands what is sitting underneath them. She listens with patience, warmth, intelligence, and real sensitivity. At the same time, she has a very constructive mind and a remarkable ability to outline thoughtful pathways forward, even when one is facing complex trauma and severe depression. She does not offer hollow reassurance. She helps one see a way through.
What I appreciated immensely was that sessions with her never felt stiff, clinical, or artificial. In fact, talking with her often felt more like speaking to a dear old friend, someone who fully understood, who genuinely cared, and who was reaching out a helping hand to guide me back towards some sense of normality. That quality is invaluable, because when you are in a traumatised and deeply depressed state, the last thing you need is to feel as though you are sitting inside a cold textbook exercise. With Xinyi, it felt like a real conversation, and that made it possible to open up honestly.
Her involvement and therapy made a huge difference to me. She helped me work through the different aspects of trauma without feeling overwhelmed by them. She helped me regain perspective, steadiness, and a clearer sense of self. Most importantly, she changed my pathway from wandering aimlessly to moving with purpose again. That shift has meant a great deal to me.
What I look forward to now is something I once feared I might never feel again: I fully enjoy my art projects, music-making, composition, and creative work again. I wake up in the morning looking forward to doing something creative and meaningful. That, to me, is no small thing. It is a profound change. I feel more connected again to who I am, to what I can create, and to the life I still want to build. In that respect, Xinyi has helped me far more than I can easily put into words.”
